Using the site

SMB Stack (smb-stack.com) is run by SMB Sites (“we”, “us”). It is free to use without an account. By using it you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.

The information is general

  • Prices, plans, features, review scores and connections come from vendors’ and review sites’ public pages on the dates shown. Vendors change them without notice, so a figure here can be out of date.
  • Totals and quiz results are estimates for comparison. They leave out taxes, one-time fees and usage charges, as How we calculate prices explains.
  • Nothing on the site is financial, legal, tax or insurance advice. Check terms with the vendor, and with an adviser where it matters, before you buy.

Partner links and other sites

Some links to vendors are partner links, and we may earn a commission when you buy. How we make money explains this, and every partner link is labelled where it appears. Once you leave SMB Stack, the vendor’s own terms and privacy policy apply. We don’t sell the tools and aren’t part of your agreement with any vendor.

These terms apply to vendors who buy a featured spot on a category page.

  • A spot costs $299 a month in US dollars, billed by Stripe, and renews each month until you cancel. Cancelling ends it at the close of the month you’ve paid for. A promotion code entered at checkout lowers the price for as long as the code says, then the full price applies.
  • Stripe may offer to charge you in your own currency instead. That price includes Stripe’s conversion fee of 2–4%, and each renewal uses the exchange rate on the day, so the amount can change from month to month. Choose USD at checkout to pay exactly $299 (your bank may still charge its own fee). A refund goes back in the currency you paid, at the rate you paid.
  • We don’t refund part-months. If two vendors pay for the same category at the same moment, the later payment is refunded in full and its subscription cancelled.
  • To cancel, use the link in your Stripe receipt. To ask for a refund, write to hello@smb-stack.com.
  • The spot is marked “Sponsored” and never changes a ranking, a price, a total, a quiz result or what we write about any tool.
  • We can remove a spot, with a refund for the unused part of the month, if the listing becomes inaccurate, the tool stops being sold, or the vendor breaks these terms.
  • Buying a spot doesn’t give you control of your listing. We correct listings only when the vendor’s public page backs the change.

These terms apply to vendors who buy a sponsored result, shown in quiz results and site search.

  • A sponsored result costs $99 a month in US dollars, billed by Stripe, and renews each month until you cancel. There is one per category. The featured spot terms above on cancelling, currency, refunds, promotion codes and removal apply to it the same way.
  • It shows only to visitors your tool is a strong fit for, by the rules on our vendors page: your listing sells in their country, suits their team size and has a fit of 70 or more for their business type, and fits their budget if they gave one. It isn’t shown where your tool is already the first result or the quiz’s pick. We don’t promise a number of views or clicks.
  • It is marked “Sponsored” and never changes a ranking, a price, a total, a quiz result or what we write about any tool.

Verified plan

These terms apply to vendors on the verified plan.

  • The plan costs $600 a year for one tool, in US dollars, billed by Stripe, and renews each year until you cancel. Cancelling ends it at the close of the year you’ve paid for. We don’t refund part-years. A promotion code entered at checkout lowers the price for as long as the code says.
  • As with featured spots, Stripe may offer your own currency at a rate that includes its 2–4% conversion fee, with each renewal at the rate on the day. Choose USD at checkout to pay exactly $600.
  • To cancel, use Manage billing on your dashboard or the link in your Stripe receipt. To ask for a refund, write to hello@smb-stack.com.
  • Only someone with an email address at the tool’s own domain can sign in and manage it. You’re responsible for who at your company can use that inbox.
  • You choose where your listing’s buttons go. Links must stay on your own site, must load, and must lead where their label says. We can remove a link, or end the plan with a refund for the unused months, if a link misleads visitors or breaks these terms.
  • The “Verified by” badge means you manage the listing’s links on a paid plan. It doesn’t mean we endorse the tool, and it never changes a ranking, a price, a total, a quiz result or what we write about any tool.
  • Prices, plans and descriptions still come from your public pages. Send corrections through the vendor form.
  • When the plan ends, your buttons go back to our partner link where we have one, or your homepage. We keep your links in case you return.

Published stacks

These terms apply when you publish a stack.

  • What you write is yours and you’re responsible for it. Don’t publish anything misleading or unlawful, don’t impersonate a person, business or vendor, and don’t add links or contact details.
  • Publishing lets us show your stack, its text and the name you give on SMB Stack, in its share image, and in features such as a leaderboard.
  • We can hide or remove a stack at any time, including after a report. Stacks stay out of search engines until we review them.
  • Prices on a stack page come from our catalog and change when vendors change theirs. The tools are the creator’s choice, not our recommendation.
  • Anyone with a stack’s edit link can change or take it down, so keep it private. We can’t recover a lost edit link without the email you gave when publishing.
  • We count views, copies and clicks for a leaderboard. Any rewards will have their own rules, published before they start.

Our content

You can link to any page and share your stack links freely. Don’t copy the catalog or the site’s text in bulk, or scrape the site in a way that slows it down for others. Vendor names and logos belong to their owners and appear here only to identify their products.

No warranty

We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we provide it as it is, without promises that it is complete, current or always online. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses from relying on the site or from using a tool listed here. Nothing in these terms, including the refund terms for featured spots, sponsored results and the verified plan, limits rights you have under consumer laws that can’t be excluded, such as the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law, which can cover businesses too.

Governing law

The laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable United States federal law govern these terms. If you live elsewhere, the consumer protections of your own country still apply.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and using the site after a change means you accept it.
