Planday

Xero

Shift scheduling and time tracking for hourly teams, from $2.99 a user

Planday, owned by Xero, builds shift schedules, runs a punch clock and kiosk app, handles shift swaps and turns approved hours into payroll reports. Starter is $2.99 per user a month with a 5-user minimum and covers scheduling, time tracking and one department. Plus is $4.49 per user a month plus a $15 monthly fee, with a 10-user minimum, and adds leave management, revenue against staff costs, and payroll and POS integrations such as QuickBooks Online, ADP, Paychex, Square and Clover; Pro is priced by quote. Users are billed in bundles of five, billing is monthly or quarterly, and the 30-day trial of Plus needs no card. It suits restaurants, bars, hotels and shops with hourly staff at one or several sites. It is not for a solo owner or an office team on fixed hours, and it does not book customer appointments.

A vendor that posts every small issue can show more incidents than one that posts few, so a low count doesn't prove fewer problems.
