Modge is a desktop app for macOS and Windows that tracks staff time and monitors what they do on their computers: it logs every app and website and rates it productive, neutral or unproductive, counts keystrokes and mouse clicks (not what is typed), flags idle time, and can take screenshots, up to 18 an hour. Tracked hours roll into timesheets for manager approval and payroll exports in CSV or PDF, but Modge does not run payroll and has no direct link to Gusto, QuickBooks or other payroll software. Basic is $4 per tracked seat a month billed yearly ($5 monthly); shift scheduling, leave and Stripe client billing need Pro at $5.50 ($7), and Premium at $7 ($9) adds burnout and mouse-jiggler alerts. There is a 14-day trial but no free plan, no mobile app and no GPS clock-in. Modge launched in August 2026, so it has little track record yet. It suits agencies and remote teams that bill clients by the hour and want proof of work. It is not for crews who don't work at a computer, like restaurant or trades staff, or for owners who don't want to monitor their staff.
